Indian Wells is home to the second largest tennis stadium in the world (US Open #1) and is located in the California desert about 2+ hours by car from Los Angeles. Palm Springs has a very nice airport we recommend skipping LAX entirely and fly directly into the Coachella valley. We had a fantastic day. Even though it was a packed house from early morning to evening we were able to see Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal practice side by side for 2 hours. Later on we saw Marin Cilic, Serena Williams, Denis Shapolov and many more. We prefer Stadium 2 a little bit over the larger Stadium 1 since it’s easier to get closer to the action. The tournament offers great food and hangout places to relax for a bit so it is very easy to spend an entire day and night there 🙂 . Oh, and Tennis Warehouse has a massive tent that any tennis geek would love to visit.
