Record with an extra camera

When you track a match with Points or a deeper style, Smashpoint already records the crucial points on video from the tracker’s phone. Pair an extra camera, a second phone on the fence, and every one of those clips gets another angle too.

Pair an extra camera

1. Open the menu and go to Video Camera.
2. Tap Connect an iPhone as camera (or Use this iPhone as camera on the second device, if that’s the one starting the connection).
3. Scan the QR code, or enter the 4-digit code shown, to pair the two phones.
4. Start tracking the match as usual. Both phones record together.

Once a camera is paired, the same screen is labeled Add a second camera, in case you want to pair another (Elite only).

Watching it back

Open a recorded point in Replays. Where an extra camera was paired, an Angle control lets you switch between the tracker’s camera and the extra one for that point.

Good to know

• The tracker’s phone counts too. The tracker phone’s own camera and your extra cameras all record. Pro can track with one extra camera; Elite with up to two. Free accounts can’t record video. See What’s free and what needs Pro.
• Same kind of phone as the tracker. An iPhone tracker pairs with iPhones, and an Android tracker pairs with Android phones. You can’t track on an iPhone and connect an Android phone as an extra camera, or the other way round.
• Resolution follows your plan. Pro records at 1080p. Elite records at up to 4K on iPhone; Android records at 1080p on every plan for now.
• Not the same as Apple TV. Casting a match to Apple TV is for watching, not recording — it can’t be paired as an extra camera.
