The Evergreen Tennis 4 court facility is 45 feet high, 120 feet wide and over 200 feet long in a single, open span! The lightweight architectural design allows sunlight through the translucent ceiling, creating an even natural light and protection from the direct sun. This makes for excellent lighting with a tall ceiling and open span, an environment much like playing outside, with shade in the summer, and minus the wind and rain the rest of the year! Similar lightweight and translucent fabric structures are used now for tennis internationally by Tennis Australia, Wimbledon and the U.S. Open center court. Evergreen Tennis is a private club that is also open to the public.
The Arrowhead Country Club in Rapid City, SD has 3 excellent indoor tennis courts and 2 lighted outdoor courts, which are available for open play, private and group lessons, as well as Junior and Adult Programs. The tennis professionals, Matt Morrow & Mark Geyer are USPTA certified, and offer over 20+ years of professional teaching experience. The Tennis Center is open 7 days a week for practice and play. World famous tourist attractions such as Mount Rushmore are about 45 minutes away.

It is always a pleasure to return to the Washington DC metro area and visit the top notch College Park Tennis Club for a practice session. The Junior Tennis Champions Center (JTTC) was founded in 1999 by Ken Brody, a lifelong tennis enthusiast, in College Park, MD. It was established on an area of 15 acres of Maryland parkland adjacent to the main campus of the University of Maryland. JTCC was selected by the United States Tennis Association (USTA) as the first Regional Training Center for its high performance program. ATP Pro’s Denis Kudla and Frances Tiafoe practiced at the JTTC facility before joining the global professional tennis tour.
The College Park Tennis Club is a subsidiary of JTCC and is the premier tennis club in the Washington, DC metropolitan area offering an exceptional 32-court tennis facility featuring indoor, outdoor, hard, red and green clay courts. The club is equipped with a complete fitness complex, including a speed and agility center, yoga studio and personal trainers on site. CPTC was one of the recipients of the 2013 USTA Outstanding Facility of the Year.

March 8, 2019. BNP Paribas | Indian Wells 2019 | ATP Masters 1000 | WTA Premier Event Indian Wells is home to the second largest tennis stadium in the world (US Open #1) and is located in the California desert about 2+ hours by car from Los Angeles. Palm Springs has a very nice airport we recommend skipping LAX entirely and fly directly into the Coachella valley. We had a fantastic day. Even though it was a packed house from early morning to evening we were able to see Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal practice side by side for 2 hours. Later on we saw Marin Cilic, Serena Williams, Denis Shapolov and many more. We prefer Stadium 2 a little bit over the larger Stadium 1 since it’s easier to get closer to the action. The tournament offers great food and hangout places to relax for a bit so it is very easy to spend an entire day and night there 🙂 . Oh, and Tennis Warehouse has a massive tent that any tennis geek would love to visit.

You might wonder why a tennis software company like Smashpoint is reviewing tennis racquets. Well, at heart we are tennis fans and nerds. So, when we had the opportunity to attend the Wilson Clash event at the Desert Springs PBI Tennis Club in Palm Desert, CA we jumped on it. Wilson put together a lovely and fun event for tennis fans. WTA pro Nicole Gibbs was on site to talk about her experience switching to the Wilson Clash. She said 2019 has already been a great season for her and she loves the Clash for added power and control on the court. Nicole is stringing her Clash with a Wilson Gut/Luxilon hybrid set up at 49 lb.
Our own play test went really well. We love the new Clash racquet Wilson has put on the market. During the play test, we switched back and forth between the Wilson Pro Staff RF 97 and the Wilson Clash 100 Tour. The Clash provides feel, power and control. We think it is a great racquet for beginners, weekend warriors, and Pros alike. But Pros might want to add a little bit of led to increase swing weight :-). What makes the Clash unique and arm friendly is the low stiffness of 55. Go test one – you won’t be disappointed.

The comprehensive PBI tennis program has something for every skill level. 15 hard courts, 3 clay courts, 2 grass courts, tennis clinics, racquet demos and more…

The Indian Wells Tennis Garden is now in full action mode. Hosting the Oracle Challenger Series the week before the big tournament. Top tennis players are practicing or competing for ranking points. I was able to watch Kyle Edmund vs Tommy Robredo (6:4 6:4) and Kristie Ahn vs Sorana Cirstea (7:6 3:6 6:3)
The Tennis Center features 9 excellent Plexipave courts. Four courts are ready for night sessions with lights. The location is ideally located central in Palm Springs. Not far away from the airport with easy access from any direction. There are also multiple paddle tennis courts! Charlie Moore is running the Moore Tennis Academy at the Desert Princess tennis club.
