Connect an AI agent with MCP
MCP (Model Context Protocol) is how an AI agent reads your Smashpoint data directly, so you can ask it about your matches instead of digging through the app yourself. Set it up once from the web app.
Generate your API key
- Sign in at app.smashpoint.pro and open Settings.
- Find the MCP API Key card and click Generate API Key.
- Copy the key. It starts with
sp_, and Smashpoint doesn’t show it again after you leave the page — generate a new one with Regenerate if you lose it.
Connect Claude
- In Claude, go to Customize, then Select Connectors.
- Choose Add New, then Add custom connector.
- Give it a name, and enter the URL:
https://mcp.smashpoint.pro. - Paste the API key you generated.
Once it’s connected, ask Claude about your Smashpoint data in the same conversation, no copying and pasting stats back and forth.
Other AI agents
The connector uses a standard, open protocol (MCP over OAuth), so any AI agent that supports adding a custom MCP connector the same way can connect to https://mcp.smashpoint.pro with the same API key.
What your agent can read
Your agent can look up the same things you can look up in the app, and nothing else. It only reads: there’s nothing it can log, edit, or delete.

How much detail you get for a match depends on how it was tracked. A match where you only entered the score has scores but no points; point-by-point history and patterns need a match tracked point by point or deeper, and placement needs tracking of where the ball went. When something wasn’t tracked, your agent will say so instead of reporting zeros. In doubles, point-by-point detail is for each team, not for each partner.
Running an Organization? The person who created the Organization can generate a separate Org MCP API Key on the MCP tab of the Organization’s settings. Connect with that key and your agent can also list the Organization’s members with each one’s rating, role, and recorded match count. That key belongs to the whole Organization: revoking it disconnects everyone who uses it.
Questions to try
Ask in plain language, the way you’d ask a person. Name the opponent, the match, or the time period, and your agent works out which lookups to make.
Your rating and recent results (Free)
- “What’s my Smashpoint ELO on hard court versus clay, and how has it moved over my last 10 matches?”
- “Show my three most recent matches with the scores and surfaces.”
Your history and records (Pro)
- “List every match I played in September and tell me my win-loss record for the month.”
- “I played Sam last weekend. What’s my head-to-head record against Sam, and what were the scores of our last three matches?”
- “How does my win-loss record over the last 12 months compare with my all-time record?”
- “Look up [player’s name] in my contacts and show their last five matches.”
Inside one match (Pro)
- “In my last match, how many aces and double faults did I hit, and how did I do on first serve versus second serve?”
- “Go through my last match point by point. Which points did I lose on unforced errors, and was my forehand or my backhand the bigger source?”
- “How did I do on break points in my last match compared with the other points?”
- “Where did the momentum shift in my last match, and what was my longest run of points?”
- “Just look at the second set of my last match and tell me what changed.”
Good to know
- Revoke a key any time. Back on the MCP API Key card in Settings, Revoke disconnects every agent using that key immediately. Generate a new one to reconnect.
- It only sees what you can see. Connecting doesn’t grant any new access — an agent using your key can ask about exactly what you could look up yourself in the app.
- It reads numbers, not video. Replays and clips aren’t available to an agent, only the scores, statistics, and point details Smashpoint records.
- Some questions need Pro. Connecting is free for everyone. On a Free account your agent can answer questions about your profile and ELO rating, and see your 3 most recent matches; anything beyond that it will tell you needs Pro. See What you can ask an AI agent and What’s free and what needs Pro.
- A new Pro plan can take a few minutes. If you just upgraded, it can take up to 5 minutes before your connected agent sees it.
- Check the numbers that matter. An agent summarizes what Smashpoint returns, so ask it to show the matches and dates it used, and it’s easy to confirm anything surprising in the app.
