Add your first player and court

Before you record a match you need someone to play it against. Add your opponent as a player, add the court where you play, and you’re ready to go. Neither needs the other person to have a Smashpoint account.

Add a player

1. Tap + and choose Player.
2. Enter a first name. A last name and phone number are optional.
3. To connect with someone who already uses Smashpoint, turn on Connect and enter their email address. Smashpoint sends them an invite; once they accept, you can share and see results with each other.
4. Save.

If the person isn’t on Smashpoint, leave Connect off. You can still record matches against them: they’re a player in your list, and Smashpoint calls this a basic player. Their results, ELO, and head-to-head build up under their name.

When they create an account later, add their email address to their player entry (or connect with them). Everything recorded under their name is merged into their account: matches, ELO history, head-to-heads. Nothing is lost and nothing is duplicated.

Add a court

1. Tap + and choose Court.
2. Enter the court’s name and address: country, street address, and city, plus a state or region and postal code where they apply.
3. Optionally choose the surface and whether it’s indoor or outdoor.
4. Turn on Home court if it’s where you usually play.
5. Save.

Good to know

• Players and courts stay free. They’re the address book around your matches, so you can keep them up to date even after your trial ends.
• One entry per person. Add each opponent once and reuse them, so their head-to-head and rating stay in one place.
• Merges work in both directions. A coach’s basic player and a parent’s basic player for the same child both merge into the child’s account once each is connected by email.
